They really went above and beyond with their care and comfort. Julie and Angela were my favorite nurses for my mom she had stage 4 terminal cancer and they took so good care of her and I will forever be grateful. Julie stood out to me , she was very gentle to my mother and me as well I stayed a few nights and she even set up the bed for me to make sure I was comfortable as well , it was comforting knowing my mother was in such good care in her end of life and I will forever be grateful, god bless Julie , Angela. Despite the circumstances that brought us here, it’s a very nice facility with very nice staff. It has 24 hour visitation, secured front doors, very nice albeit small porches for each room that has screens to keep the bugs out, very nice and well appointed rooms, all around very nice! There is a slight criticism I have. There were 7 of us in the room visiting a family member with the room door closed. I am so grateful that my Mom passed away in such a beautiful environment. It meant the world to my family and I. But…. I have made over 4 phone calls for the Chaplin to speak at my mom’s service, no one has called me back. It’s disappointing that I have to continue to reach out for an answer. I called again today with a assurance I would get someone to return my phone call and that did not happen yet again. When I am trying to put my loved one to rest I simply need an answer, I should not have to keep calling. Do better!
My brother was in hospice at Cornerstone for two weeks, and the nurses and doctors did everything they could to make him comfortable. I highly recommend this hospice for caring, pain management, and taking care of the family who is grieving at the impending death of a loved one. Special regards to Maya (Maia?) at the front desk. She was lovely, always had a compassionate smile and was ever welcoming to questions, requests for assistance and such. Heartbroken and traumatized after watching my husband suffer at the Cornerstone Hospice House in Clermont and Tavares. The doctor in Clermont (Dr. Collazo) left my husband in severe pain the first night and he was always chasing the pain thereafter. He never got ahead of it. He and the manager (Mindy), and my husband and daughter and I, had all agreed that he would talk to us as a team before making any changes, but then he suddenly made the decision to switch my husband back to oral pain medicine (because he felt that my hu... read more
