Dr. Benson is one of the most knowledgeable, well-spoken, patient, and compassionate doctors I have ever had the honor and pleasure of meeting. He has treated two out of my 4 birds now and I will absolutely be taking the other two to him if they need care in the future! I don’t know why I haven’t written a review until now but I CANNOT recommend Cornerstone ENOUGh! Panch came to see Dr. Draper last year for sudden onset lameness. Initially, he presented with nail dragging and appeared painful in his neck. He quickly progressed to not being able to stand. His symptoms did not point at one specific illness. He saw Dr. Draper and Dr. Benson and they left no stone unturned when were there. I am so very thankful for Cornerstone and VCA. I just wanted to thank Cornerstone Animal Hospital for their kindness. Our rescue girl Honey was showing signs of illness and finding a vet that treats pheasants is not easy. One vet in West Columbia does treat them but since I was not already a customer they would not see her even when I expressed her condition. Cornerstone saw us today even though we were not already patients. It broke my heart when I realized she would not be going back to her aviary. I have had so many good experiences here, it’s crazy! If you have an exotic pet, this is the place to go. Dr. Benson and his staff always take such good care of my animals and you can tell they actually care about the animals well beings not just money. He’s successfully done a major surgery on my rabbit and I have taken my guinea pigs to him. My rabbit wasn’t feeling good and I called and they saw him immediately that day. They saved his life! I can’t recommend this place enough.
I am a first time Bearded Dragon owner. I took my little guy in for a general wellness exam and a fecal test. The vet techs on his case kept me updated as possible and Dr. Benson called me within a few hours and explained so much to me. From proper diet to proper lighting. Exotic vets are hard to find around Columbia, but I’m very glad I chose them. 💛 They will continue to see baby Yoda!
Dr Benson did a great job with my duck today and talk to me over the phone and is very caring and he knew she was part of the family and did a wonderful job . I will be back with my other animals. Thank you Charlene Rennison
