I had one of the worst and most humiliating experiences of my life with this psychiatrist. I came in for help — to discuss stress, pressure, and exhaustion — and instead, I was treated like a danger to society. Despite calmly explaining my situation, the doctor decided to involuntarily call an emergency medical team, who forcibly transported me to an ER against my will. Dr. Beck was highly recommended by another medical professional. I tried multiple doctors prior to scheduling my appointment with his office, but none were as knowledgeable and effective as Dr. Beck. I would highly recommend him to anyone.
If only I had read the reviews about Dr. Beck before booking… I was referred to him by my therapist and will be sure to relay my concerns, so he is not referred to anyone else. Dr. Beck was cold, condescending, and incapable of completing our initial intake during an hour appointment. He was roughly 5minutes late to the start. He spoke over me, blatantly rolled his eyes while I went over medical history, and continuously tried to interject his opinion on how I felt — because he “knew” better. Dr. Beck was recommended to me by Emory since they aren't taking new patients. Before scheduling, I was asked to provide detailed information about my condition and my insurance. I confided the reason for my visit to the receptionist. Then, I was repeatedly reminded of the costs and fees I would be paying out of pocket. Upon my initial visit, Dr. Beck immediately exposed me to the phobia that I had disclosed.
