I made my way to the new location of Cool Basil and enjoyed an excellent meal Saturday evening. Our service by Allison was exceptional and the food was brilliant. Our party shared a large bowl of Tom Ka Kai which was new to me but favorable and well done. I also enjoyed the TST sushi roll which was one of the largest rolls I have had in Des Moines and was well crafted and even more delicious. Thursday evening, I dined at Cool Basil's new location. The crab ragoon had small chunks of crab, was fresh and very good. For the main entree, I ordered crunchy salmon and spinach noodles with fresh spinach, red, green and yellow peppers. It was very tasty and not spicy. I appreciate the option of ordering food without hot spices. My waitress was friendly and very helpful with suggestions for my order.
