Terrible – Absolutely worst place in Boston I've been! The staff are extremely rude. There are only 2 bathroom stalls so it gets very crowded. Unsecure coat check. The bouncer argued with me when I wanted to get my coat before leaving and when I finally was able to go get it I found that someone had thrown all coats on the floor and my sweater I'd put with the coat was missing. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. It's a travesty to such a beautiful city.

don't waste your time or money – Other reviewers are right they just do not care at this establishment. Dirty, poor service, very unresponsive to customers. I will never go back. I even e mailed them about the issue my party had, as did other other members of the party and they did not respond to any of the e mails. No one in my party will ever go there again and I will tell any one that asks not to go there. Absolutely no respect for the customer. Customer service is unacceptably bad. Do yourself a favor go some where else.... read more

Don't order a draft beer here. – I have only been here 3 times since November 2010, but everytime I have ordered my favorite draft beer and wish I hadn't. Tastes like they haven't cleaned the taps since prohibition ended. Menu/food was average and the bartenders were less than friendly. But nasty drafts gives me the impression that they just don't care.

Financial District "meet market" satisfies the after-work hoardes. – The Scene With rows of rustic picnic tables, high-backed booths, exposed brick and a fireplace, it's easier to imagine having a burger at Coogan's than a dance party, but both occur. During daylight hours, the pub is comfortable and serves as an after-work watering hole for Financial District suits. Once night falls, Coogan's split personality is evident by the throngs of collegiate revelers who proceed to dance the night away. The Draw Although you can din... read more

Worst bartender I ever had!!!!! – I went to this place last night with some of my girlfriends and there is a bartender there with braces and she is terrible. she picks and chooses who she wants to serve first, has people waiting after they have already ordered their drink and ignores them, gives attitude and yells at people to wait a minute if you ask for a drink, gets in your face and yells as well. I don't know why this girl is a bartender because you're suppose to have patience and be nice for that tip and have people com... read more

Great lunch spot – I work near there, so my coworkers and I often go there for lunch on Fridays. Note that this review doesn't apply to dinner and weekends, when the scene is different altogether. The food is good and well-priced for downtown - $10 lobster roll special is always great (real chunks of lobster meat, very light mayo), and so are the burgers, salads, and sandwiches($7 to $8). Service is friendly and professional, and nicely starched white tablecloths are a plus. The clients are mostly corporate/downtown professi... read more

Best Friggin Spinach Dip – OMG! I came here for the first time last May on a date and ordered the Spinach Dip. I was trying so hard to be a lady and not eat very much, but I couldn't help myself! I actually came a few weeks later by myself w/o my boyfriend and ate an entire one myself because it was soo good! The mix of cheeses they use and the fact that they had pita and regular chips was even better! I tell all my friends about this place because of this one dish!

Just plain terrible – All staff were rude: bouncers, bartenders, and owner. Bartenders rip you off whenever possible and aren't even hot. Very crowded but no girls. Tiny dance floor, minimal selection of beers. Going to Coogan's is a wasting a night with so many other bars around.

All Around Great! – I'd like to start off by saying that as soon as you enter this bar/restaurant that you feel at home, that's mostly because of the cushy armchairs they have at every dining table, but the friendly service dosn't hurt either. The lobster is great so get the two lobster dinner. If you're not into sea food try the steak tip sandwich its tender and juicy, so much better than any normal ground beef burger. It's proximity to the state Street subway station central financial district and New England Aquarium make... read more
