Terrible billing services and customer service. They submit bills incorrectly and then expect that’s you did something wrong on your end. For the record it wasn’t even my decision to use them , it was my dermatologist who sent a sample to be tested there. And I had to deal with the unprofessionalism on the back end of everything.
Horrible customer when I called them! The guy in billing kept talking over me. I had to call my provider to have them talk to Consolidated Pathology Consultants since clearly Consolidated didn’t have the info they were already sent by my provider. With so many scams out there, I called Consolidated to be sure they were legit based on something they had mailed me, but got instead an I got a jerk. Engages in anti-consumer practices - intentionally balance billing when it is illegal in the state of Illinois, implying that it is up to patients to take action when it's not (again, balance billing is illegal) and their phone and web-chat require significant wait times to actually interact with anyone. I will be seeing a different doctor if this is the lab they choose to partner with going forward.
Just horrible. They put me in collection even thought my insurance settled the bill. They do not want to cooperate and try to resolve the issue. It’s been 7 months and still nothing.
Apparently my dermatologist uses this company for pathology, however within 1 or 2 days of receiving a bill from them for whatever my insurance did not cover, they were calling to collect even though the bill was not due until 1/6/22. They were calling me very late December. (They did the same thing to my wife who saw the same dermatologist about a week before me.) I will have to let my dermatologist know that this company is having financial difficulties and that he needs to find a new company to work with for pathology.
