As a former Crown Ward of the system this was my main placement as a youth. This was the worst experience of my life. Restrained for wanting to talk to my younger brother on the phone. A restraint where staff are belittling you and I quote “Who’s the tough guy now”. A lot of staff were hired with no education in the field and at one point there was a staff who was 6 months older than me when I was 17. She was 18 and in her first semester of college.
