History Established in 1976. It was a typical hot Texas summer day on that Wednesday, June 9, 1976, when two young pizza visionaries rolled into town. These two ambitious entrepreneurs had packed all their worldly possessions in their vehicles, which wasn't much beyond an 8-track collection and some lofty ideas. Scott, in his '68 Volkswagen Microbus and Jerry driving his brand spanking new '76 Dodge van, they were destined for big things. It didn't take long for the two to realize that Austin was desperately lacking the styl... read more

The pizza isn't bad, but it's definitely NOT Chicago style, which is what we were looking for. I was really hoping this would be my new go-to for Chicago style pizza. It cost my family of 5 $40 to eat here, which we would normally spend about $25 for a pizza dinner. For me, it's not worth the extra cost or the drive. I will continue to look for a true Chicago style pizza in town.
My favorite pizza place in Austin – My girlfriend and I are picky -- and we don't like the same things. But we had a great pizza last night at Conan's on Anderson Lane. We split a medium pizza -- I had hamburger, peppers and olives and she had artichokes, garlic and garlic. The crust was nice and crispy and there wasn't too much cheese (my peeve with most Austin pizza places). Service was very attentive and pleasant. We'll be back again soon.
Why would you buy pizza elsewhere – Okay, is this place supposed to be a secret. I had never heard of it and just kinda stumbled across them in the phone book a couple of weekes ago and all I can say is I will NEVER order pizza from anyone else in town. AWESOME. Amazing deep dish pizza and we even had a whole wheat crust. So much better than these big chains that use garbage ingredients. I'm a big fan.
Bliss – I have been raised on Conan's pizza, particularly this location. The atmosphere is great for hanging out with a group or going on a casual date, the pizza is incredible, and the beer is cheep.
Best stuff on earth – Get a Savage on Whole Wheat and you'll never be able to look another pizza in the face... It's so good it's more than just a pizza...
Chicago style pizza? Are you people high? – Anyone that says this is chicago style pizza has not been to chicago.. hubby & I made a pact: Other than Rudino's we're giving up on pizza in Austin! This pizza tasted like a jar of ragu with unseasoned toppings. Even the pepperoni had no flavor. Would not return if it was free. We'll stick to tex mex and BBQ here in Austin, we're done with pizza. Oh, and one of the kitchen dudes walked in on me in the ladies room! Nice.
