I recently had a disappointing experience with Pie Barker Alarm Co. They charge a quarterly fee for monitoring services, but when I needed them the most, I discovered that my alarm didn’t have a signal. Despite paying for continuous monitoring, it seems like they don’t actually ensure that the system is working properly. When I reached out to them, I was met with little to no helpful response, leaving me feeling frustrated and unprotected. Terrible monitoring service. Supposedly they are checking the system each month to ensure they are receiving signals. They hadn't rec'd signals for 6 months and were still charging me. Then when I brought it to the attention of the company something was wrong, they said it was my responsibility. Also previously when I did have an alarm, they said they dispatched the police but this was not the case. AMAZING! I would give them 10 stars if possible. I bought a home in Palm Springs -- my first home being a NYC native. I have always owned condos. My insurance broker said the Insurance policy/s I wanted (top end) had many requirements b/c of the CA fires etc. (All policies in fact due in 2019 now) They wanted heat monitors, smoke detectors, leak control, sprinklers, glass break, all hooked up to "Central Command" Also, they strongly suggested cameras around the perimeter.
