I’m a former patient for Comprehensive Life Resources and I can say that it is the worst experience I’ve had with an outpatient company ever. First, I was required to come in person for my intake. No big deal. Most places require this. I was then asked to come in for my first appointment which I thought was strange as no other company has required this. This place is a joke! I started coming here after an aborted suicide attempt. They didn’t even give me a therapist or counselor! I only got a peer, not even a peer counselor, just some other lady who also had mental illness who's supposed to provide support or something?? I went to a few group therapy sessions for queer people. One group member said his main reason for coming to the group was to find people to have casual sex with. I’ve been going here for about three years, My first issues was when the got rid of my original therapist without even telling me and then never speaking of her again and said I had to switch to a different one, what bothered me most about it was the fact that I had opened up about things I never speaking about to her and now I had to try and automatically be comfortable with someone else. I heard about abuse here, including staff using unlawful restraints on minors — like sitting on kids until they shut down or went mute. That is not treatment; it’s abuse, and it violates Washington State law. If this happened to you as a minor, you can still report it. In WA, many people have up to three years after turning 18 to file certain claims, and even if that time has passed, reporting still helps protect others.
