I had been a patient for a couple of years when, in 2020, I was told at a check up that I needed to have five crowns. That sounded way too aggressive to me, especially since I had zero pain or problems. I moved to a new practice. The new dentist told me my teeth were fine; I could come back in six months. My feeling is that there was an attempt to make up for income shortfall due to the pandemic by suggesting aggressive, expensive (and unnecessary) treatment.
