If I could give 0 stars, I most definitely would. We were told by the liaison (Ms. Ana) the nurses would provide great care - home visits, medicine, run errands, help with eating, bathing, etc. NOTHING was done as promised. Do you know what my father received? UNLIMITED morphine, oxy, and other medications to basically have him "comfortable" (in their words). Awful support staff. The social workers call when they feel like it, and do not care about your questions. Supervisors ignore any complaints against the social workers. They are there just to get money from Medicare. They do not care about the emotional needs of the family members.
Most unethical staff I have ever encountered. Nurses on their personal phones and overheard talking about patients and their families in a derogatory manner at the nurses station. There are other choices in Hospice providers, please do not select this one. Christine Hartman
If you have Lyme disease, do not go here. They never offered spiritual care or any emotion support. They just wanted to put me on psychiatric meds. I’m dying and they don’t care. They do not believe in Lyme disease at all. What a joke. Don’t go here
Bon Secours Hospice Richmond has been on the money so far. My team is Joyce & Kay (RN's) and James (Social Worker) & Dr. Flickenger. I have not met Dr. Flickenger yet but the nurses and social worker have been awesome. My mother was just admitted to hospice this week. I was very opposed to Hospice but after talking to the team - I feel more educated about the process and definitely have been aided through additional help and resources and supplies and equipment to improve quality of life for my Mom. What an AWFUL experience! My step-father was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer in April. He passed away, & it was clear that Mercy Hospice was going to make it a slow & miserable process for him. A red flag went up when they were delivering the equipment, (my mother informed them from the start that my step-father was tall and built and needed an XL bed) they finally arrived with a regular size bed!
