We are a small animal general practice that was built in 1987 by Dr. Susan Fritz to serve the residents of Fredericksburg, Gillespie County, and the surrounding area. Dr. John Metzger purchased the practice in 2019 and continues to provide Compassionate Care to our clients and their animals.

The staff is welcoming and professional. Everyone is kind and concerned and caring like your pet is as special to them as to you. Dr John is so great he takes time to really listen to your concerns and is a terrific partner in the health care of your pet
First visit with my highly reactive girl went great! The staff was very helpful and the Dr. was great.
The team working at compassionate care, live up to their name. My english bulldog had to have both of her knees repaired and they were with me every step of the way including after hours.
I was traveling through the area and my dog was having an issue. CCHV was the 3rd vet I had contacted and they got my dog in real quick helped him out and got us back to travelling without spending a fortune! The staff was excellent and seemed to really care about my dog as much as I do.
