Excellent b&b, we had Room 3 (king suite). Very large and comfortable. Breakfast included was substantial - hot egg dish, pastries, yogurt, fruit, toast, oatmeal etc. They can meet any special dietary needs if you tell them the day before. Well situated near downtown too! Would definitely return!!

We were briefly in town and needed a place to stay for just one night. It was so charming, cute, cozy, clean and welcoming. My mom won't stop talking about it. We would recommend CRI to anyone staying in Newburyport.

Very convenient location, within 2-3 block walking distance to everything downtown as well as parks and harbor walk trail along the river. Plum Island is also close by. Port Vida Mexican cantina is directly across Center Street from the inn. The rooms were quiet, and sort of familiar, like visiting a relative, tons of bath linens provided. Breakfast is available but I had plans both days that I was there. Friendly, attentive staff. I will return!

The Compass Rose is a delightful B&B, with lovely suites and comfortable beds. The breakfast was excellent, including frittata, freshly baked muffins and coffee cake, yogurt parfaits, fruit, breads, and cereal. The living room was so inviting, with a gas fireplace and treats like cookies and sherry available for sharing. Sadie was a welcoming and accommodating host. The location in Newburyport is fantastic. And don’t miss the cupola on the 4th floor!
