In 2003, the St. Stephen's Soup Kitchen was renamed the Community Soup Kichen of Goldsboro moved from St. Stephen's Episcopal Church at 200 North James Street, where it had been located for 24 years, to its present location at 112 West Oak Street. Since 1980 the Soup Kitchen was a ministry of St. Stephen's and was supported by volunteers from many other churches throughout the county, including men and women from Seymour Johnson Air Force Base. Tenacious spirits and personalities lead this wonderful place; I am grateful for how much I have learned about community in rich and raw forms from the Kitchen’s regular volunteers and director. We have so much to say thank for with the great work that the Goldsboro Soup Kitchen does for our town.
Some days it's real good, some days it's not. But, it is always hot and nourishing!
