The transition from ICU to hospice was handled via Zoom despite this not being a COVID-restricted environment. My wife just passed away. Community Hospice provided superb care. Everyone we encountered was genuine, caring, and helpful. At this highly fraught juncture Community Hospice was the calm port in the storm.
Disappointing that a hospice provider is not fully staffed on weekends. Think about it. Our loved one started hospice care on Friday. Most questions we had were redirected to Monday, when staff would be available. They flaunt a 24/7 "patient care line" where the answering service has to find someone available to help because it's not a weekday. A few months ago my grandfather who had Alzheimer’s was in hospice and this company was chosen for his care, due to his insurance.This company was the worst hospice care that we ever came across. The nurses were rude and had no empathy no care towards patient care or the feelings of the family members.
