Was briefly a patient of this place. I was assigned to therapist Matthew Van Dorst. At first he was helpful by giving me feedback. But after a few sessions, he just listened to me and stopped with the feedback. I questioned him about it and his excuse was “I’m here just to listen to you”. Dude, I’m not coming all this way for you just to listen to me. I want to come here for you to give me your opinion and help me. I just started doing therapy yesterday at CAPE Mental Health. I have a history of mild anxiety, according to my doctor. I was also struggling with my mental health during my first year of semester. I get anxious whenever I'm in school, taking a test, or seeing people I do not want to be near generally. What got me through my anxiety is receiving counseling to get the help I need.
