RecommendedMercy and her student Samantha are wonderful at being supportive and meeting your needs! Being plus sized, I was worried I would struggle to do a home birth and find a support team. They were amazing.
Mercy was not my midwife, however I had a precipitous labor and delivery and my midwife was still a ways off from our home. She called Mercy around 1:30 am (Mercy was not on call for us) and Mercy was there extremely quickly to help me deliver the placenta and stayed for a few hours, even after our midwife arrived. Mercy was my midwife along with another student midwife and I had the most amazing and caring experience. She has always been caring, never rushing through our appointments, answered all of my questions and always tried to make accomodations to make appointments at a convenient time for everyone. I had wonderful prenatal care and a wonderful birth experience and I would whole heartedly recommend Mercy to everyone!
Mercy was my midwife for my second child. She's fantastic. Despite my baby being in a difficult position, she let my body do what it's designed to do and I ended up pushing for only 10 minutes. This was so different to my first birth experience where, with a similar positioned baby, I ended up in hospital after pushing for close to 8 hours. We have chosen Mercy for the birth of our 3rd baby too. Although we have to travel over 2 hours to get to her, it's well worth it for her knowledge, experience, and relaxed approach.
Birthing with Mercy and Ashley was a dream come true. I had a bad experience delivering my first so when it came time to find a provider for my second I was pretty picky. Mercy and Ashley were all I could have hoped for! If you are on the fence, please read my birth story on Mercy’s blog! I am sure you will love them as much as I did!
I studied under Mercy as a senior apprentice and I was incredibly pleased with her mentorship. Mercy practices midwifery in a way that I thrive under- she is vigilant with her practice but seems very laid-back and non-medical. She also isn't threatened by students so I was able to present knowledge I had that she may have been unfamiliar with, and also earned her trust to lead situations as primary under her guidance. Mercy signed a contract with us saying we owed her 3000$ for the services rendered. Than billed our insurance to get US a refund. Billed our insurance 7500$ and got a refund of like 2493$. She kept it all and than got crappy with us about the refund. She admitted that she owed us money but said she couldn't afford to pay due to Christmas with her kids. Than she said she would pay us payments. She sent us a letter in the mail saying we owed he more trying to say that we signed a contract for 7500$. Point is be very careful sh... read more
Mercy is an amazing midwife. I transferred to her after being told I could not have the birth that I wanted in a hospital and she made it happen. My daughter was born in the comfort of my home, surrounded by people I love and a couple hours after birth I went to sleep in my own bed. I cannot tell you how amazing it feels to sleep after birth and wake up in your own bed! If you are considering home birth just do it!
