History The Columbia Star Dinner Train is comprised of two locomotives and three cars. A locomotive is located on each end of the train so that the train may operate in either direction. Our F-7 locomotives were built by the Electro-Motive Division (EMD) of General Motors in 1948 and 1953. These locomotives were originally built for the Great Northern Railroad Our dining cars were built by the Pullman Car Company in 1938 for the Southern Pacific Railroad as coach cars. We had a great time with friends on my husband's birthday. The food was great.
Took Christmas train tonight. We stood outside with my 3 year old grandson waiting in the cold. Apparently they were making a repair in frozen lines, but failed to tell the crowd to wait with the children in a warm car until they could board us late. My daughter asked 3 times to get a drink she had ordered. The train was very cold and we had to wear coats. Below knee level it was extremely cold. There was only one working restroom for the whole train. There were Chocolate chip cookies that the servers were eating as we walke... read more
I have been calling for several day to get ticket for my family left several messages and no body ever call back, very disappointed.
