My child had the privilege to receive services from an SLP at Columbia Speech and Language Services. During those stressful times for our family, it was such a relief to watch her work with such knowledge and care, constantly motivating my child to gain skills. She was always sharp on time, fully prepared and planning the next step. Communication with me was always clear and open to answer questions. My 82yr old mom had a stroke and her speech was affected. She came to Columbia speech and language about 5 months post stroke. Initially, we thought the cost was steep but felt that even a small change would be beneficial. How we were surprised. The staff there were AMAZING! They were very accommodating and even came downstairs to the street to pick my mom and take her upstairs because there is no wheel chair access from the parking lot. Just stay away from this acquisitive and dishonest institution if you value your child and your financial resources. The management is an extremely greedy and arrogant woman. They ask for $900 in advance, even before going in for the first session!! This lets them to blackmail and exploit you in whatever way they want. You can't change anything until the first three sessions are over. They charge 30% more than their competition. Their rooms are very gloomy and their toys and equipment are old and very limited.
