I purchased a home from Columbia Homes in 2017. Hank, Michelle and Jennifer were always available to speak with and went out of their way to give options and work with different designs.
On 3 separate occasions I went here to look at homes and not once have I met or talked to anyone here.. Today I waited around for 3 hours to meet with someone and still nothing. Not once with the other 2 companies in The Dalles have I had any trouble.
I was planning a home build and they stopped returning my calls when they realized USDA would require them to honor their agreement with USDA to be the general contractor for the lot development. They obviously don't want to honor that agreement because once they talked to the loan specialist at USDA they NEVER returned my calls or emails. BIG DISAPPOINTMENT! Also, a huge waste of my time. I think they should be investigated.
I Am buying a new home from this business. Doing business here feels very much like having a personal designer. Have wonderful models on sale. We are to the co-ordination phase! getting contractors, permits, financing and utilities for some property I have. It does take some time. If you were serious a.bout buying I recommend you go back. They don't have a large staff, but the determination and helpfulness make up for it.
