Cornelis Schipper brought the company to the United States after World War II and took Dutch bulbs from customer to customer in his business coupe. Colorblends has bulbs for beautiful tulips and daffodils. They are reasonably priced and the best way to buy is the 100 bulb quantity (average price around $35.00). I have bought my tulip bulbs from Colorblends for several years and frequently recommend them to those who love beautiful tulips.
Ordered 1,500+ bulbs last fall and seeing them all come up now. Those grape hyacinths are strong! As are the Narcissus 'Sir Winston Churchill' and the Aveyron tulips. Very high quality bulbs, great blooming, strong plants. Just gorgeous. Very happy with Colorblends.
I have been ordering bulbs for over 15 years from various wholesale companies, and I consider myself a pretty experienced gardener. I received a colorblends catalog late summer of 2017 and was very impressed with the catalog and all the tips and info on planting. I decided to take a leap of faith and ordered over 300 bulbs.
