For how much they are asking for their units the product is very poor to say the least. The walls are thin and if you have a first floor apartment just get used to hearing people from all sides. The biggest disappointment was moving out. When directly confronting the front office about move out procedures they were very informative and confident that if the rules and list were followed correctly then the deposit refund should be expected. When we stayed, there were specific rules to follow that we didn't mind following cause they made sense. Halfway through our lease we were told we would be charged for the trash other renters were leaving in front of our patio. We were told even if it isn't ours, we are responsible to clean it since we are downstairs. Then they had put a note on one of our vehicles that had tags that expired the day prior that they would tow it and have it impounded if we don't get it changed immediately. Waited three weeks for my bedroom and bathroom door after moving in, not a huge deal, once they finally were installed the maintenance professional damaged my door frame, it's split all the way down with the molding hanging off. Left the strike plate bowed out and the door there chipped because of it next to the handle. Also had the weather strip replaced on the front door but now it drags severely on the floor as you try and open it. The upstairs neighbors footsteps are louder than I've ever experienced. If I could give 0 stars, I would. While I was renting here, the tenant that was living in the unit under me, claimed that my dog peeped on my balcony and leaked all over his stuff. My dog did no such thing. The management, then went into my apartment twice, without giving me a 24 hour notice, the management violated the lease agreement twice. If you are ok with the apartment complex violating the lease agreement ( which is required by law to give you 24 hours notice regardless of the situation) be my guest. The complex does ... read more
I’ve lived at Colonies at Hillside for a little over a year now and have had a great experience. The office staff are very knowledgeable and always very helpful. And I can’t say enough about how fabulous the maintenance staff are - they’ve always been super fast, responsive and friendly (even when working after hours). I highly recommend this apartment community.
