I have lived here for over 5 years. The building is now non-smoking. The apartments are very spacious and quiet, with hardwood floors and adequate ceiling heights. I like the screened balcony- I can leave the door open all summer. The emergency water shutoffs are the biggest drag. Hallways have been redecorated and the building is well maintained. I just moved in in April on the First and I have been enjoying myself I am on the first floor and here nothing 🙂 I have complete privacy. The apartment is very spacious and I love the fact that I don't have to share a bathroom with anyone else like I had to iny previous place.
I lived at Col By Towers for 5 years ending in Jan 2017 and recommended it to many friends. It was clean, great location in the Glebe, and the apartments are spacious, bright & well laid out. I found the staff & tenants to be lovely folks. Many long term residents. Unfortunately, the rental rates have doubled since Lansdowne Pk was redeveloped and unit upgrades were made (granite counter tops, wood cabinets, stainless appliances). I do not know where to start. This building is old, smells like cigarettes, and does not have air conditioning. In terms of the smell, pretty much all the hallways smells like smoke and you will believe me when you visit the building yourself. The fact that it is an old building means that the construction material is not as solid as today's and this means a lot of noise; tons of noise complaints all the time ignored by the management of the building.
