Dr. Colon is wonderful! But don't ever expect to see him. I've been a patient for 24 years and now I can't get in to see him anymore, even to discuss test results. I was told "We are too busy to schedule appointments right now and don't know when that will change". Called the medical assistant who said surely I could at least get in to discuss my results? I was lied to and refused results of the scope.
He has been my doctor for 20 years. Very caring and dedicated man. It's nice to have him in my corner. He will do everything he can to help his patients.
The initial visit was great. Things fell apart as an ongoing patient. I expected more from a specialist.
Under no circumstances should any patient go to this office. After spending over 30 minutes on the phone with their billing department to check that they accepted my insurance and talking with their nursing supervisor to ask the doctors experience with motility disorders, I made an appointment to see Dr. Colon and drove an hour one way to see him for a second opinion. When I got to the appointment they again verified my insurance, took my copay, and brought me back. To my surprise a PA came into
They prescribe several expensive procedures that are inconclusive and the results take weeks to receive (hospital said it would only be 1-2days). Poor communication ! Don't think they quit know what they are doing
The PA never checked about my abdominal pain complaint and only listened to my lungs. He then asked me if I knew what the number one cause of death in the united states was. I told hem no I did not know. He then told me it was lung cancer. (I had filled out the questionaire that I was a smoker) He had me scheduled for a colonoscopy. When I got home I looked up the causes of death and lung cancer was not even in the top 10. The PA just flat out lied to me and how can you trust someone who lies?
He's a nice man but doesn't know all the GI information and education he should. If you have gerd or other common problems then he probably can help you. If you have serious issues, find someone else.
