Because my father lived closer to me than my sisters, we decided that my dad would reside at College Walk Retirement Community - Assisted Living. While living there my father went into Hospice Care and the staff continued to provide professional and emotional support. I couldn't have made a better choice. I would highly recommend College Walk, as it made a positive difference during a difficult time.

College Walk Review My Dad moved into a cluster home at College Walk 8 years ago. It took him a while to decide to make the move but his only regret is that he didn't make the move sooner. Recently he decided to move from his house into an apartment in the lodge for convenience and to be closer to all the amenities. The staff were very accommodating and helpful in making the move into the lodge as easy as possible. He is now settled in and enjoying living in his new apartment. Thanks College Walk!

My wife and I were residents of The Inn (the assisted living section of College Walk) for nearly two years. It was, while it lasted, a wonderful solution to our situation. Mary had advancing dementia, and I was at least able to leave her for a few hours at a time and the meals and housekeeping and nursing care allowed us to live together as long as possible. My father was dying of terminal cancer. He was receiving hospice services at College Walk Retirement Community. Once the facility decided he was no longer appropriate for their level of care, he was immediately discharged without even a day's notice and no comprehensive discharge plan. A horrible experience for an old, sick, dying man and his family. I wish we had chosen a different facility for Dad. He will be buried in Arlington National Cemetery where he will finally be treated with the respect he deserves.

College Walk kicked out my grandfather a few days before Thanksgiving and gave him two hours to leave. We were all supposed to see him over Thanksgiving but he was moved to a hospital with very limited visiting hours. Then my grandfather passed away before I was able to see him. I feel that College Walk lacked humanity when dealing with this very difficult situation.

When the time came to move my mother from a big house to retirement living, College Walk was on our list to visit. We immediately fell in love with the facility and staff. Diana Mashburn, Marketing Director and Kevin Betts, General Manager, worked with us patiently, making sure they addressed all our concerns, and went the extra mile to find just the right apartment. Just a note to tell you how much my Mother in Law enjoyed her over 20 years at College Walk. She made many friends and participated in many of your activities. I can highly recommend College walk to anyone interested in an active retirement lifestyle.
