I don't understand why people who got a chance to rent an apartment ~$1000 in such a cool suburb are dissatisfied with something else? I've been living here for a year, wonderful neighbors, any problem with the equipment is solved by SMS the next day! Maintenance guys are super friendly, the apartments are good enough for such a price, apparently there are people who are always unhappy with something...) I'll stay for the next one year
If you're wondering if the reviews are really that bad, they are. Greediest landlords I've ever had, don't count on getting your deposit back as they'll slap you with labor charges when "refreshing" the apartment. Spend a little more and get a respectable landlord.
MAJOR SCAM !! Or just really shady. Went to look at apartment #13, gave me the paperwork for application, i offered to get it all done today so I wouldn't miss out on getting the apartment. Got the $45 (cash) for the credit check and gave it to them, then was told "if you want me to stop showing the apartment I want the $45 credit check fee and the $875 first month's rent now, if you know your credit is good (650+) you'll get approved" The first month's rent is non-refundable... why would I pay upfront for the first months r... read more
It’s a Wheaton ghetto, AVOID
PROS: - gorgeous hardwood floors in the living room (only) - close to downtown Wheaton - access to the Prairie Path is across the street - easy access to the College Avenue train station - price (super affordable! One bedroom = $795) CONS: - location (railroad runs along side/front of buildings!) - cockroaches (and other bugs!) - no central AC - drafty - not very big: the kitchen is especially small - parking: only 1 parking spot per apartment. guests or a roommate/significant other with a second car must park in train parki... read more
