I was visiting Calgary and wanted to do a photoshoot before the fall colours were gone, so I needed a hairdresser at the last minute. I found this salon on Google since I was staying nearby. I called and explained that I needed my hair done within an hour because my photoshoot was also planned last minute. Wissam said that if I came right away, he would be able to help me. I visited Collective Salon (downtown Calgary) for a hair wash and blow-dry and unfortunately had a very unpleasant experience with the stylist, Hue Nguyen. During the hair wash, her nails hurt my ears multiple times. There was no apology or acknowledgment, which immediately made me uncomfortable. Throughout the appointment, she repeatedly used the phrase “what do you mean” in a strange and dismissive tone rather than asking for clarification politely.
