Dr. Coleman is a perfectionist. I know this because I was his patient before and due to insurance had to go elsewhere. I recently took myself and my son to an ophthalmologist for Vision care and they messed up our prescriptions. So, I took those prescriptions to Dr. Coleman and paid him oop to check us again because I trusted his work in the past. Everything is all good now and our prescriptions are in.
RecommendedI wish Dr. Coleman was on the preferred provider list for our vision insurance. I trusted him with our family's visions care for many years. His practice is very stable and when you have to use providers not so stable you realize how important this factor is for your eye care. It is ashame that insurance disrupts your choice of a great eye care provider.
After evaluating an elderly patient & seeing the patient had cataracts & glaucoma, he should have referred the patient if the cataracts were severe enough. Coleman pressed that the patient have glasses made, even though Dave told him that we wanted to wait. The patient had a hard time seeing with the new glasses. It was at this time Coleman then referred the patient to an ophthalmologist who stated the patient should've had cataract surgery 7 yrs ago. I call this cheating the patient.

Dr. Coleman and his staff are truly first rate. Very professional and personable. I've been a patient now for about 4 years and am dreading the day that he closes up shop. The only knock against his practice is that the building can be difficult to find at first... it's a very small unassuming building tucked back off the street.
Seems like an honest Doctor. Told me that my daughter didn't really need glasses, but might benefit from them. Place was clean and staff was nice.
