This doctor has a high proportion of negative reviews, and I saw him only because he had the only easily available appointment. Now, I'm baffled by these reviews. I found Dr. Colegrove to be a good listener and fully responsive to questions, he had taken the time to study my records carefully (unfortunately, this has not always been my experience when visiting new practitioners), his discussion of my test results was well organized and informative, and he discussed some new issues not previously mentioned by other doctors. I was sonewhat skeptical after reading the reviews. But. I arrived on time, met by a friendly reception desk. Took my information, I paid my co-pay, had a seat. I was called by the nurse nothing 5 min. Taken to a room, reviewed my meds, waited about 10 minutes, the factor was completely friendly. Listened to my concerns, looked over my lab data, and then explained his findings. I was having an ongoing testicular issue that was later diagnosed by a more qualified urologist. He completely failed to diagnose my problem even though I had the highest grade severity of it and said "Guys come in here all the time thinking they have a problem but nothing is wrong with you." Don't even think about scheduling an appointment with this guy. He's unreliable.

Dr. Colegrove met me on time, clearly explained all items related to my condition and options. He got me through a difficult medical procedure and ensured the test results were delivered on time. I did have to prompt him for a follow-up call, but that was efficient and mostly informative. In all, I felt he is a competent professional who gave me good care, though was a little clipped at times.

Complete lack of empathy or caring. Cleared me of some specific issues but gave zero guidance as to next steps. Instead of giving me the hope for recovery his awkward demeanor and almost confrontational tone left me feeling pretty hopeless. Someone with no training whatsoever would likely be better with people and have more skill with interpersonal dynamics than Dr. Colegrove. I needed to see a urologist after a substantial increase in my PSA level. I discussed the options with Dr. Colegrove, and I felt that he was providing me with an objective assessment of my health risks, and the pros/cons of various diagnostic options. I chose to have a prostate biopsy. Not a pleasant exercise. But it was handled efficiently and competently, and I'm very glad I had it done. I was pleased with the overall service and experience.

Avoid this alpha male. Terrible attitude and doesn't do the work needed to diagnose. Anger issues twice. Filed a grievance the second time he lashed out at me. A bully who has mistreated this veteran. See someone more mature.
