My patients get highly personal care. I try to understand the big picture of your life. I believe in the biologic basis of psychiatric symptoms and the value of medication for symptom control. But often, more work is needed to have a good life. I am informal, friendly, warm and believe in straight talk. I never see patients for brief 15 minute visits. Patients do best if you have a real relationship with them and if they feel that you care about them as real people and are glad to see them.

Dr Cole is a fabulous, brilliant, caring MD who actually does his own psychotherapy, as well as being an expert psychopharmacologist; he also was a Neurologist ! is super responsive to emergent situations, always returning calls and collaborates with other professionals . You will be lucky to find an MD to treat you at all, getting other midlevels is now the mode, which is NOT want I wanted.
I have spent the past 15 years trying to find a psychiatrist like Dr. Cole, and am so grateful that I did. If you've had challenges finding a Dr. with the right mix of intelligence, empathy, and experience this is the first person you should call.
This guy is a total nut job. One session he acts orderly and courteous, the other he's more profane than a comedian, pops pills in front of me, and fall asleep while I'm answering his questions. He never cleaned his office during the time I was seeing him. He changed my diagnosis about 10 times in 2 years. He called me his practice' scapegoat and attempted to convince me that I will never get better. Especially at times when I was in dire mental condition. Stay Away.
