Rented a condo in July 2023 at Ormond Holiday Club in Ormond Beach FL for 7 days that is owned and managed by SurfCoast Realty. Property manger G threatened to have us removed from property if we did not pay by our third day. We are not used to paying final amount by check-in as demanded by her, since our credit card was on file and used for a $500 security deposit. I am a frequent condo renter in New Smyrna Beach and decided to try Surf Coast Realty for Spring Break this year. To make this short and sweet, they double booked our condo after we had received a confirmation and paid a deposit. We had to accept another rental for only 6 days instead of 7. The rental was great. This business brokers vacation rentals. I rented a condo through them This winter. They neglected to tell me the condo was listed for sale. The expectation is that I leave the condo every time there is a showing. In my opinion this is an extremely poor way to conduct business. I Believe there is a reluctance to notify the renter because the owner would Lose rental income and Surfcoast would lose commissions. I rented this Unit for 2 months, but left after 1 month.
