Property management has a lack of transparency and accountability (refusal of joint move-in or move-out walk throughs, attempts to hold tenants accountable for pre-existing damage), lack of timely and professional communication, managers never physically visit their properties, and tenants are expected to ensure workmen follow through with reported maintenance issues. I don't recommend renting from them nor hiring them as property managers.
I reached out regarding a couple of rental properties I’m interested in. I originally reached out to the number on Zillow and I’m not sure who this person is but they are very off-putting and rude. My fiancé and I happened to be in Victoria, Tx on Sunday and I reached out to the number I had texted prior to see if they happened to have time that day to show (honestly wasn’t expecting a yes because it was last minute but thought I would ask). I worked with Harper Property Management with a home I was going from renting to buying from the owners. The owners changed agents once the lease was coming to an end from another company over to a Coldwell Banker realtor. Our purchase agreement ended up falling through as the new agent took off all items I requested for the sale (3 minimal items) and said that the owners did not want to pay me a commission since I was my own acting realtor for this sale. Lynn and his wife Kimberly are absolutely amazing and I highly recommend them as YOUR realtor. Lynn has TONS of knowledge and experience he’s shared and educated us on when it came to prospect homes viewed. There’s more to a home than just contracts.
