In February 2019 Dr. Maher removed the previous fusion from L4-S1 and then fused L3-L5. The first surgery by a different doctor was a partial success but left me in a lot of pain. Dr. Maher took his time to explain the process and cautioned that the result would not be pain free. After Dr. Maher did his magic tricks I have only moderate sciatic nerve pain when weather fronts come through. This is as close to 100% cure as I could have expected.
Dr Maher repaired my spinal stenosis in 2018 and he really did a wonderful job. I interacted with him at least a dozen times and I felt like I was talking with a close friend who also just happened to be a brilliant surgeon. I couldn't be happier with him or his staff. All were top notch.
I have had several surgeries by Dr. Maher and now drive from North Carolina to Pensacola because I would not consider trusting any one else. He has always treated me with kindness and respect. I have degenerative disc disease and am developing stenosis. I also had a major fall that injured my neck. He has helped me avoid lower back cushion for more than 10 years. He always chooses the best possible outcome from the minimally invasive surgery.
Great. I had lumbar surgery in 2004 by another doctor and it was not very helpful. I saw Dr. Maher in December 2018 and he was polite, very empathetic and had an excellent bedside manner. On February 1, 2018 Dr. Maher did a reconstruction of the lower lumbar, a 7.5 hour operation. It went perfectly and I have had minimal pain in that area as of July 15, 2019. I feel so positive about Dr. Maher that I'm scheduling an appointment with him for a problem in the upper thorasic area.
I think he reviews himself because there is no way anyone could say anything positive about this guy
I went with my brother who has had a brain tumor remover by him. He messed up the surgery and my brother developed horrible complications. To make matters worse, he’s narcissistic and has an atrocious bedside manner
Trust me, don’t believe the reviews. He is a terrible surgeon and is just not a nice person. You can do better
He turns away pretty much every case that comes his way. He refused to see me and was told by his office that he cherry pick patients to buffer his survival outcomes. Stay away from this guy...oh my
Colby Maher is an excellent doctor. He is great at explaining medical conditions as well as the advantages and disadvantages of treatment options. He made time in his busy schedule to promptly meet with me, and then schedule expedited back surgery. He spent much time outside of regular office hours to make sure that I received prompt treatment.
Colby Maher, M.D. has a 4.3 star rating with 38 reviews.
