My boyfriend and I recently dined here. Although the service was alright (our server forget to bring us utensils and napkins a few times) the food was disappointing. For the amount of $ you pay, the food is pretty bland and the portions are very small. My boyfriend got the Lamb Ragu and not only was it disappointing taste wise, but he hasn’t stopped throwing up since we ate there. I’m pretty sure he has food poisoning. The only good thing was the focaccia bread with honey butter. Would not go again.
At first glance, this was a very nice place for dinner; However, ended up waiting over an hour for some pasta, just to end up that the tender forgot to ring up my order in the first place. No real attention to me as a paying customer. Feels like the issue of forgetting to ring up my order could’ve been avoided by a simple check in after a while. Honestly one of the poorest experiences at a restaurant I’ve had.
We have eaten in this building hundred of times over the years. Historic and charming. Coe Tavern keeps that upscale charm. But fails at service & food. Our waiter although nice acted like we were an inconvenience to him. He took no time to discuss anything with us. We had to ask for items he should have brought to us such as bread, utensils. The foccacia & honey butter app and Pork Chop entree are incredible. Service could have been better but they made up for the mixup with a free beer
