DO NOT GO HERE! If you are trying to actually get help for your mental health. You have a job. And are some what a normal person in society. I went out of desperation for mental health help, as a single mom and actual help is very expensive. Got prescribed meds that made my face twitch uncontrollably. As a bad side effect. Called multiple times to get no answers on what to do. And had no luck in help and had to go to hospital. (Since I couldn't post my review to their inpatient services) This facility only helps meth addicts and the homeless. Not people having a mental health crisis. Not sure why they have cards up front stating "You're not alone" when they ensure you are. Change the name of this facility to Highland Rivers Detoxification & Homeless Shelter. They're clearly not doing their job related to psychiatric stabilization. Real help is no longer offered or received here. Submit your complaints to EMTALA. I will.

Highland Rivers (formerly BHCC) has definitely improved over the years. A lot of the staff now is very down to earth and engaging, which I really appreciated. I came in voluntarily, and when I felt prepared to leave, they evaluated me and were extremely prompt in releasing me. I did have to advocate for myself and ask to speak to the proper people to ensure it was done, though. They even expedited my medication order to make sure that I could leave when I wanted instead of making me stay another day. Please keep hiring genui... read more
