Great fish horrible service I love great seafood and I can't complain about the quality of the product, but the service was horrendous. The guy I got acted like he was doing me a favor by even talking to me. Extremely rude and short. I waited in line and was passed over until I had to ask for service, then I greeted by someone that obviously didn't like his job and didn't want to be there. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone I liked. Nothing against all Coastal Seafoods. The one in Minneapolis off Cedar is great.
Very friendly service I had a great experience here today. John was not only helpful, but he was friendly as well. I went in to get some oysters and shrimp and there were a lot of options for both. John suggested the bagged shrimp was just as good as the fresh without the hassle of having to cook them myself (or de-vein--ick). The shrimp was on sale too which was an added bonus. They also had some great baguettes by the counter so we had to get one of those as well. We have a new place to get fresh seafood now.
The Best Fish Stew Ever! Earlier today we went into Coastal Seafood to buy clams, mussels, squid, scallops, shrimp, oysters, and salmon and whatever for a seafood stew. We were pleasantly surprised to find the service was more than accommodating to our many questions and needs. We just want to thank Coastal for your patience, your service, and your excellent fish. It made our shopping experience fun and enjoyable. We highly recommend Coastal. We are now loyal customers :)
Coastal rocks Coastal Seafoods is the best place to buy fish and seafood in Minnesota. The product is fresh and the service is great. Try asking, "what is the freshest, best fish or seafood you have today," and then purchase that. The salespersons will understand and will be willing to help. Try the tuna salad or salmon salad on one of their great baguettes for a fabulous lunch, with a bottle of wine of course. If you have any doubt on how to cook something, they all seem to know how to cook every fish or what fish to substi... read more
fresh fish You can always count on Coastal seafoods to have extremely fresh fish of a high quality. Also, they carry unique seafood, not just your typical grocer selection. I recently purchased a sockeye salmon that was the best I've tasted since I lived on the West Coast.
Abusive to their customers If you want abuse, go to the Coastal seafoods in St Paul. They are rude and unorganized. They told my husband, "You have to be aggressive" in order for them to take your order. Excuse me. Who needs that stress, when all you want to do is buy seafood. They need to install a machine so you can just take a number to be served, instead of having to "be aggressive." Maybe some people like this kind of abuse, but for those of you who want to buy seafood in a civilized manner, go to Brothers Seafood in Ma... read more
