Service was great, and room fittings were good — excellent rain shower and very comfy bed. However, I have to agree with an earlier review. If you stay at a Coast Hotel in Victoria or Nanaimo or Campbell River, you are staying at a proper hotel either right downtown or with a pleasant walk downtown. Coast Courtenay is a renovated motel some distance from the centre. Nothing wrong with that — but it’s not what I expect from a Coast hotel. The rooms are nicely renovated but it's clearly an older motel. There was no hot water on the morning to shower, bathroom fan and heater/ac are very loud when they're running. The most disappointing thing was to find a bunch of little ants crawling around on the floor. The lovely staff addressed it right away. The staff are so kind and gracious. There's a heated outdoor pool, outside seating area, and in an indoor common area with fridge, freezer, microwave, and complimentary coffee/espresso drinks. Central location.

We stayed here last year and this was our first option again this year. Rooms are very clean, beds are extremely comfortable and the showers are amazing. The hotel has great amenities and excellent customer service. Great value for the price. We will definitely be back.

Great staff and amenities, other than the traffic noise from the main road it's close to everything. Otherwise a great time.
