David diagnosed my Mini 30’s issue with its hammer not functioning properly and needing some retooling from wear. The hammer would not set and catch and at times two shots with one trigger pull would occur. They also did some lapping and mounted my scope properly, with new scope rings. All said and done I had two perfect behind the ear vital shots this weekend in Louisiana. 185lbs, 230lbs at 100 yards. Rifle Mini 30 7.62x39 Ammo: Federal Power Shock softpoint Scope: Vortex Crossfire II 2x7x32 illuminated reticle. Thanks Davi... read more

I had a great experience with Clothey & Sons Gunsmithing. I brought them a fairly specific project and needed material removed from a dovetail to soften the corners because it was painful to shoot. The combined experience of the crew and personalities mesh very well together. Let their work speak for itself, you won’t find better in the area, and worth every penny. They took my 1911 that was a mosh-posh of Tisas, Colt, Auto-Ordinance, Wilson Combat, Harrison and USGI parts… and turned it into a very smooth and reliable f... read more

Clothey & Sons Gunsmithing is hands‑down the best gunsmith in Southern California—bar none. If it shoots, they can make it shoot better. If it’s broken, they can fix it. Simple as that. Years ago, I brought them my Mossberg, and not only did they repair it, they improved it. More recently, I took in my Sig Sauer 1911 that had been constantly jamming. They diagnosed and fixed the issue quickly. As soon as I picked it up, I went straight to the range and ran multiple boxes of 45 through it—multiple brands, multiple mags—and no... read more
