New to town Got let down I am new to the area so obviously had no mechanic here. I had an awesome one back in CLT and was hoping to find one just as honest and fair here. I have a BMW and the dealership is over an hour away (dont care for dealerships anyway) My car wouldnt start so we contacted Cliff's. He came out and towed it to his shop. performance earned my loyalty Cliff's is the only mechanic shop to which I will take my car. The receptionist is candid about how long the wait will be, and I've actually pulled the owner aside to compliment him after I witnessed the receptionist be the epitome of patience and tact to a rude customer. The mechanic himself gives me feedback, the receptionist is kept in the loop in case I have further questions, and the owner is usually there. We have been in this business in Swansboro for those 30 years and we bill customers only that have accounts with us. disappointed customer I stopped by to get an estimate for a problem my regular garage could not do at this time. After they took it in the garage then made a few calls for parts; the mechanic handed me an estimate and I left. One week later I received a bill for 25.00. They were not up front with me that there would be any fees involved. I would have paid them that day. sometimes good, sometimes not I have been taking my car to Cliffs for about ten years. What I have found is that the work is not always dependable. Sometimes the work is done carefully and sometimes I have to go back several times and "be ugly" in order to get things done. Prices are NOT low. Women are NOT treated the same as men. Bernie Thompson I don't know "Anonymous" but they posted a review and they lie like a rug. For the last ten years Cliff's has serviced my many vehicles. He has always informed me when the price would be higher, actually he has given me options according to costs on repairing many of the things wrong with my vehicles. He has always called me when my vehicles were ready and his hours are posted. If you can't get there on time then YOU, Anonymous, have time management problems. I think the employees are trustworthy and honest.
Anonymous I agree with anonymous. Multiple trips to get work done. Then more multiple trips to fix what was supposed to be fixed in the first place. They treat women as though they know nothing. They do not call to check if things are ok to proceed. They can NEVER provide an upfront price. The price always changes. I would recommend you try another garage.
Auto Repair I've been to Cliff's Garage a few times and each time the service was superb! He is very frienldy and his Garage is very clean. His prices are very reasonable and he is honest and trustworthy. He has the best prices in town and will go out of his way to help you out. His sign says "the best place to take a leak!" I agree with that statement 100%. I would recommend him to anyone and everyone. PROS: honest, reasonably priced CONS:
