I have been experiencing what I called twitches (myoclonic seizures) for the past fifteen years of my life. I tried to get help, told my doctors about it for years and never received it from the neurology center in my area. I came to Cleveland Clinic doubtful from my past experiences. I am forever grateful to the staff at Cleveland Clinic for their second opinion of my son's epilepsy. They were able to remove a portion of his brain causing seizures and to this day he has remained seizure free. The staff all the way around was exceptional and caring-- most importantly, knowledgable! I recommend this unit to everyone.
I've been a patient of Dr Nancy Folvary's for almost 15 years. I wouldn't think of going to anyone else. I live in Michigan over 3 hours away and she is, by far, the BEST Neurologist I've went to. She's the one who got my seizures half way under control when nobody else could. I've seen just about every local Neurologist including the University of Chicago Neurology who flat out told me there was nothing more they could try to help me. My son was discharged from the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit at Cleveland Clinic yesterday. They were a blessing from heaven. They got him in within a week of me calling, they got him full financial aid because he hadn't been able to work due to the seizures, and they got us answers when 2 other hospitals told us he was perfectly fine. They are a research hospital , so they did want to trigger a seizure so they could actually see what part of his brain it was coming from, but we got extremely lucky and they were able to see the s... read more
