I do not give bad reviews lightly but Clayton of Layton has earned it. I have close to three decades in various customer service related work with 18 years in real estate. I have never dealt with a company with such egregious customer service as this one. They over promise and under deliver. When there is a problem they ignore you, they lose paperwork, and when you call attention to the problems they blame you for their ineptitude. The most dreadful home buying/setup experience ever (and i have bought 6 homes and even had one custom built). The product itself is very nice, but the ability of Clayton Homes of Layton to get you into the home is absolutely horrible. We had financing in place, paid 55k out of pocket to keep the deal going (after appraisal came in low) and it still took them 15 months to get to closing! Worst home buying experience, and that experience lasted 15 months. The home itself deserves more than 1 star but you can get the same home from another dealer.
Horrible product. Over half of the electrical outlets in my kitchen don't work. I reported this immediately. 2 and a half months later, I still have to rotate countertop appliances because I can only use one little spot on my kitchen counter. The contractors who put my house together we imbeciles. Cut skirting, leaking pipes, lukewarm water to my tub because the scald protect valve was never adjusted correctly, and pieces missing that I was assured would be there and that I paid for.
