Caitlin is the bombdigity! We have been going first weekend in December for about the last 8 years never disappoints! Me and my wife started going by ourselves for the first few years now my brother/sister-inlaw and niece and her husband join us for the last 4 years we all love the location / rooms / manager Caitlin.
I am shocked that 563 out of 596 reviewers rated this place 4+ out of 5. Charming, lovely, and amazing were some of the frequently used descriptors. Did these reviewers stay at the same place I did? The location was excellent—everything is within walking distance. But the positives end there. As another reviewer stated, this is the first B&B where the owners are hands-off in every way. Walking distance to everything. Classic New England inn on outside and inside. Beautiful sunroom for dining where they served a continental breakfast. The vanilla yoghurt parfaits were scrumptious and I liked that they included a hot egg dish, though by the second day, I was ready for something other than quiche. They could consider alternating days with another breakfast casserole. But I guess then some guests would be disappointed that the quiche wasn’t there. We stayed 2 nights in the Marquand room and it was perfect. We had our own deck and private entrance, the room was gorgeous with a newly renovated bathroom and comfortable bed. The location is perfect, easy walk to town, and Caitlin is incredible, great egg bites and breakfast spread every morning!
This lovingly restored and maintained historic inn boasts wonderful period furnishings and decor. The breakfast was included and delicious -- especially the frittatas! Perfectly situated a short walk to downtown shops and restaurants.
