I called to establish care yesterday on 2/4 and enter my number for a call back which never happen so I called back before closing to see if I could setup and appointment. After seeing Dr Ellis for three years, I have decided to seek care elsewhere. Simply put, I do not believe Dr. Ellis is a good fit for my needs. My initial decision to choose her was based on the desire to support a provider of color, hoping for a different experience given the disparities in healthcare. However, my experience has shown that she is hesitant to address issues outside of a basic scope. Update : I am so shocked to see the two very negative reviews that are recent? Especially because it appears they are young people. I can understand people feeling dismissed by lack of eye contact but honestly I like that she doesn’t make me feel pressured to maintain eye contact, and she has never been dismissive. I don’t know what factors would possibly change her pleasant and understanding disposition, but maybe she was very stressed, or was having a bad day or going through something the only time you saw her? I’m shocked to read the positive reviews. I went to her office with a back pain she even didn’t look to my face. She was the whole time typing and asking questions that the nurse already had asked. She didn’t touch my back to see where were the pain or anything, just assumed that was muscle pain. After 6 months I still have the same pain and tired to spend lots of money with those doctors that don’t help at all. If you can, please, avoid any doctor from INOVA.
