Citizens of Springfield MO are the victims of this monopoly. This company is manipulative. The communication deliberately awful and, misleading. I had paid in advance one time and only because I check my bank account almost every day did I find CU sent the payment back. Charged a $25 dollar late fee and, charged me a $150 dollar deposit. When I moved into Springfield there was no deposit. How is it that this charge appears along side a late for something I paid two months in advance. This is only the tip of the iceberg. They shut you off when they send the notice late. Then when they make a mistake of pulling a double payment they refuse to refund the payment. They also tell you if you dispute the payment with the bank they will put you on cash only. They are not a business they are a Bully!! 

Business response:

City Utilities sends out bills monthly. Past due notices are sent out as well. When payment is not received, a disconnect of service will be done. This has been taken care of with the customer.

Very Poor customer service. They treat people as if utilities are a luxury and not a must. They refuse to listen to you. Its their way or no way. 

Business response:

Fraudulent information such as multiple social security numbers, multiple names, and multiple birthdates have been given to CU. Customer has been advised to bring valid social security card in to office, also has been told the amount that needs to be paid from previous service with CU plus a deposit.

Absolute worst customer service of a utility company. Have rentals in multiple state/locations and have never had any trouble turning on/off service while work/repairs needed to be done. Have left house unlocked on 3 different days. Still no water/gas unlocked at main. Repairs need water/gas to test service after hours and city will not allow. Only utility company I've ever heard of doing this. They do not care about customers at all. Multiple phone calls multiple people involved. Will not let you talk to anyone but a custom... read more

The way the treat customers is horrible, A complete lack of respect, They replaced the main water line that runs thru my yard, The day after they completed it my water line broke. They said it was on my side of the meter and wasn't there fault! After many calls they fixed it and made a point of telling me what a favor they did me, Then charged me for half the water that leaked out. They completely tore up the curb in front of the house, I have photos of there trucks parked on it for over a month. After may calls and no retur... read more

If this is ****** ******** that lives at **** ** ***** here are the actions that have been taken: Water leak was repaired. Customer given 50% refund on water usage over normal usage which is the most refund we are allowed to give. Water Construction to replace 15 ft. of curb.
