The City of Locust Grove derived its name from a beautiful grove of locust trees that could be seen throughout the town. This tranquil Henry County community is a place for combining tradition with change. Locust Grove was a major rail distribution center for cotton, peaches, and other farm products. It’s sad when reviews are closed for the Henry County school board you can’t make an informed decision about a school for your child’s education. It’s a quiet community but it’s not worth buying a home here when you have no confidence in the county education system or educational officials. It’s a shame when the PRINCIPAL is complicit with the staff. They will not respond to reasonable requests for assistance with your children. COVID-19 is no excuse. Something not COVID-19 related for a change and maybe something of an activity for kids on remote learning. This morning the Census Bureau released 2019 population estimates for Georgia Counties. We have taken these figures to add numeric growth, percentage growth, and then rankings. Children can be encouraged to look at Henry County in terms of rank as well as calculation of growth percentage and ranking in order.
This week is Statistics in Schools Week from the US Census. We will be profiling the lessons your children are learning in school and encourage participation in the 2020 Census on April 1, 2020.
Now that the Covid-19 virus appears to be spreading more in the US, it might be time to view some suggestions to prep the home in case of a more widespread event. We are currently working with the county and state officials on a coordinated effort to prevent and respond to any possible outbreak here.
