Not a good experience. Kicked out of 2 areas of the library . Librarians apparently have nothing better to do. Get a life. Nice facility with rude employees. Sad that a tax paying citizen can't enjoy the library without an overlord ruining it.
I believe the High Point Library is exceptional in the availability to the public, books are many and in good condition, clean and inviting, and the Staff is very helpful. However, I had a difficult time concentrating because so many people were talking so loud. I thought talking was supposed to be done quietly, if at all. I wandered around, changing where I was sitting until I found a quiet spot on the second floor in the back. The Chairs in the Quiet Zone were taken.
First, the good points. It's a very nice facility, open and inviting. Lots of books, obviously, and lots of tables and chairs. Also, the staff is friendly helpful. Unfortunately, this was almost drowned out by the sounds of rudeness. When did the rules change about acceptable behavior in a library? And why does the staff do nothing about it? Upon looking around at the others who were trying to read or work, I knew that I was not alone in being annoyed by those who couldn't care less about anyone but themselves. Pretty sad. T... read more
In my opinion it's the best Library in the Triad. The children's dept is phenomenal! It is clean, well staffed and very organized. Great for the entire family!
