Cinema Village is an old-fashioned movie house in the heart of the New York University area, and serves the local film community well. Count on an amusing mixture of high and low brow celluloid masterpieces, including independent and foreign films and cult classics. Inside, a vintage subway turnstile leads the way to the theaters, and the popcorn is served with real butter. Several film festivals use Cinema Village for screenings.

Small screens but comfy seats, plus pretty cheap popcorn, for NYC that is.
Quite small. So is the screen.
It's cool. You're obviously not coming here for the screen size or sound quality, but if you want a more intimate and old-fashioned movie experience, this place is great.
Big Bird, Tiny Theater
Charmingly a touch run-down with great programming
Good clean theaters with art house/indie offerings.
12 dollars for a screen as big as my tv at home.
Tickets are only $11 in a decent sized theater. Possibly even better than the Angelica.
Cinema Village has a 4.4 star rating with 521 reviews.
Cinema Village is closed now. It will open tomorrow at 9:00 a.m.
