Cinema Village is an old-fashioned movie house in the heart of the New York University area, and serves the local film community well. Count on an amusing mixture of high and low brow celluloid masterpieces, including independent and foreign films and cult classics. Inside, a vintage subway turnstile leads the way to the theaters, and the popcorn is served with real butter. Several film festivals use Cinema Village for screenings.

Oh Wow They Don’t Have No Butter Popcorn At Cinema Village Movies Theatre That’s Why I Don’t Go No Cinemas Village At All And That’s Why Me And My Daddy Will Go To The Other Movies Theater Instead?
Liked it more than the chain theatres - no ads (so arrive early), cheaper tickets, nice central location
Great classic cinema!
Cozy little cinema for indy movies. The restroom is downstairs
Nice for the smaller films but the theater is not much better than sitting at home.
Reasonably priced concessions! Super friendly staff.
Inexpensive, but very scrappy. Nice staff that's relatively quick to fix the unfortunately not too rare issues.
Bit of a rundown movie theater with small rooms playing very indie films
Nice international movies all year
