Looking through the other reviews I can't believe what people have said. Seems to be the consensus that she is a 5 star or 1?? Anyway, I have been going to Dr Parnes for 33 years and she has always been consistent and awesome. She does not hold your hand, true. If she were a man, all of the 1 star reviews would be a 4-5 in my opinion.
Dr Parnes delivered my third son in 2004. She was caring then and she is caring now as I struggle with menopause. She is competent, smart, direct and reassuring when you are nervous. She knows how to put you at ease and cuts through your anxiety with personal stories and questions about your life. She always airs on the conservative side with testing which I appreciate. While I met her over 30 years ago in River Edge, NJ, I now drive 50 minutes to continue using her as my GYN.
I went to Dr Parnes because I was told she might be able to help me with my ongoing medical issue. I told Dr Parnes the tests that I already had done & told her not to repeat them. She repeated exactly the same tests and I was given a bill from bio reference for over $400. I called her office many times to discuss this and they were rude and ignored me and she didn’t return any of my calls. She takes advantage of patients.Don’t waste your time or money!
I had gone to Dr Parnes since I was 14, and have never been back after I turned 22. Right when I started seeing her, she was always dismissive and judgmental. I had told her about bad menstrual cycle symptoms and she chalked it up to being dramatic and put me on birth control. Now after seeing a specialist at 27, I have an abnormality that needs to be operated on that was the cause for all issues I had mentioned to her plus a myriad of others women’s health issues that went undiagnosed.
